A Sakai-Longsight customer shares their experiences

LAMP, a consortium of small colleges and universities in the Appalachian area, worked with Longsight to provide Sakai, an open management learning system, for all of their colleges, faculty and students. LAMP colleges and universities were using WEBCT, but it didn't fit. They looked at Angel, but again, couldn't afford it. In 2006, they went live with Sakai, based on cost and their needs.

What are they using with Sakai? TurnItIn (for-profit plagiarism tool), the Meetings tool (provided by Longsight, also referred to as Big Blue Button, similar to Adobe Connect web conferencing tool), Clicker (Turner Technologies tool), vimeo (videos) and iRubric.
